- Combing
Whether it’s a Brazilian hair extension as a sew-in or a wig, how you comb it, determines how long its volume will be maintained. Unless it’s fake hair, it’s rare to find Brazilian hair shedding anyhow. Brazilian hairs like ours don’t shed unless you comb them with the wrong combs. We always recommend a wide-tooth comb; this is the best type of comb for your Brazilian hair. Always comb or brush your hair from the bottom up, small sections at a time. It detangles, reduces frizz, and keeps shedding to the barest minimum. The more careful you are with your extensions, the longer they will last.
- Washing
Over time sweat and product buildup on our Brazilian hair extensions become inevitable. To keep our Brazilian hair looking silky and lustrous we have to wash gently. Washing has to be with warm water and a mild sulfate-free shampoo and or conditioner. Harsh shampoos can bleach the hair and rid it of moisture. Wash softly and rinse out the shampoo with warm water. We recommend co-washing your bundles or wigs with a conditioner before you install them. This helps with detangling so that when it’s dry it will be easy to comb through. If you rock your Brazilian hair wig every day and use styling products, then we advise you wash it at least once a week.
- Maintenance
If you have your Brazilian hair on as a sew-in, it’s best to sleep with a satin bonnet or silk scarf. This will help prevent frizz, knots, and sleep tangles. If it’s a Brazilian hair wig when it’s not in use hang it on a mannequin head or wig stand. If it’s a Brazilian hair bundle package it in a silk bag until you’re ready to use it again. This will preserve the hair and keep it looking as good as new.
